Small Sprouts with a Significant Yum Factor

img_4860.JPGSchool is starting up again here in the south.  While some county systems have already gotten underway, our students have another week of freedom. But, that week will pass quickly, and the time to think about school lunches will be here before we know it.

In the spring, I wrote about how easy it is to wrap up a healthy lunch that will energize any child. But, what about snacks?  Whether your child is attending elementary school where snack time is often built into the schedule, or a tween whose fast metabolism prompts the need to eat little portions several times per day, or a young adult who needs a pick-me-up before afternoon activities, it’s important to have handy, healthy noshes on had for the quick grab.

img_4858.JPGLeasa Snack Sprouts“Leasa Industries Co., Inc. today has become one of the largest growers, manufacturers, processors and packers of healthy food products across the Southeastern United States. Leasa brand products are distributed to various retail locations throughout Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, The Caribbean and Alaska.” So what?  What is it about this particular healthy food snack? Well, besides the fact that the sprouts are sweet and crunchy, their health benefits are many. Specifically, Sprouts are rich with vitamins, minerals, proteins, and enzymes.  Need I say more?

Okay - I hear some whispers…..you are thinking, “I have had sprouts on salads.  They don’t have any taste.”  These little guys don’t fall into that category!  They have a lot of taste. In fact, they are not only crunchy, but naturally sweet.  I eat them all the time, keeping them on/nearby my desk so I can grab hold of some when I feel like something to eat in between meals.  Leasa Snack Sprouts are a wonderful alternative to chips or other “vending machine” grabs.
