Tasty Tidbits

dsc_0075_edited.JPGLizzie Marie’s Tasty Tidbits Cooking Classes recently launched in our community and parents are shocked! Feedback we’ve received from participants’ parents include:

“I cannot believe my child ate healthy foods at your class and loved them!”

“My child never tries anything new… but she ate everything in class!”

“My daughter begged me to stop at the store on the way home to buy all the ingredients from your recipes… and we did…”

Participants remarks were:

“I didn’t think I’d like it, but I do!”

“It smells delicious, can I eat it now?”

And the ultimate compliment:

“Can I have more?!”

Tasty Tidbits Cooking Class is a unique opportunity for children to learn how to prepare fresh healthy foods in a hands-on cooking class led by Lizzie Marie. Embracing a philosophy to make the world a better place, Lizzie created a one-of-a-kind culinary experience which won the “Del Monte Do Something Good for You! Grant” presented by DoSomething.org. Tasty Tidbits is a peer-to-peer learning concept. Lizzie’s goal is to teach children and adults how to have a delicious time living healthy while creating healthier communities. Tasty Tidbits is offered to various community venues: scout troops, school and homeschool groups, hospitals, etc. Our community recreation center met with us recently and decided to add Tasty Tidbits to their class roster.

Students receive a hearty portion of:

  • Creating delicious foods
  • Introduction to healthy nutrition strategies
  • Learning smart food choices to reduce chances of obesity
  • Basic kitchen safety and age-appropriate cooking techniques

There is fresh class content each month. Upcoming topics will be: Snack Attack, Breakfast Club, Lunch Bunch, Wrap it Up, Pastabilities, and more. Classes are sprinkled with a dash of culinary history, math, and science along with a heaping serving of creativity in the kitchen!

Class Includes:dsc_0003.JPG
* Apron and recipes
* 1 1/2 hours instruction with hands-on activities
* Fresh and healthy ingredients used in all recipes

We look forward to cooking up something special at our next class!

Warmly,
Doreen
