Holiday Gifts From The Kitchen
Kids Cuisine writer Michelle Stern and her two children appeared on View From The Bay, a SF Bay Area television show, on November 28 to do a demonstration on how to create delicious and beautiful Holiday Gifts From the Kitchen.
Michelle’s kids, ages 5 and 7, layered the dry ingredients to make chili and pumpkin bread, and gave their gifts to the hosts of the show. By using healthy ingredients and a reusable container, these layered edible gifts promote sustainability and prevent the waste of our natural resources.
The holidays are an ideal time to spend quality time with kids in the kitchen. If you ask, they will give you lots of ideas of food gifts that they would like to create for those they love!
If you are short on time, Michelle and her kids shared other options from her online store that also promote family time together in the kitchen. Make Your Own Chewing Gum, Chocolate and Gummies Kits contain environmental education inside and are loads of fun to create! Honest Pretzels and Pretend Soup are wonderful cookbooks for families, written by local author and artist Mollie Katzen.

Bring your kids into the kitchen for a fun and memorable holiday season. Enjoy!

Oh, Pretend Soup is one of the best children’s books I’ve ever found! I have tried many, upon many, but this one really take the cake! Honest Pretzels is great, too, but for older children. I really liked PS for pre-school age children, personally.
