How a Culinary Journey Started with a Bushel of Apples
Hi, I am Lizzie Marie and I am happy to tell you a little about me and how my love for cooking began. As strange as it may seem, I started cooking at the age of two helping my mom make homemade applesauce. My culinary business started when I was 6 years old in 2006. I baked all natural brownies, cookies, and specialty breads and sold them at a local farmers market last year. Everyone at the market called me “The Baker Girl.” Sometimes the owner of the market bought my goodies and ate them for breakfast. Her favorite was the Apple Dapple Bread. It was fun tracking how many people bought which type of food to see which food was the most popular. What a great math lesson. Espresso chocolate chip cookies were last year’s most popular. This year my dad created a website for me http://www.lizziemariecuisine.com/. I love filming cooking demonstrations in my kitchen then putting the videos online. Creating the videos is my favorite part.
I watch a lot of cooking shows with my mom like Giada De Laurentis (Everyday Italian), Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa), Sandra Lee (Semi-Homemade Cooking with Sandra Lee), and Alton Brown (Good Eats). I hope to meet one or maybe all of these people because they have inspired me so much. Thank you Giada, Ina, Sandra, and Alton. I love your shows! They are the best in the world!
History is one of my favorite subjects and I have been learning a lot about foods from diffent time periods. I even created a piece of art recently using a method from the Byzantine time that used something from the kitchen. That article will be coming soon.
Here are some jokes because I think it’s important to laugh every day, and I want to spread laughter.
Once there was a cabbage who got embarrassed, want to know why?
Because when he opened the door, he saw the salad dressing.
Why did the cantaloupe jump into the water?
Because he wanted to be a watermelon.
Warmly,
Lizzie Marie

Congrats to you, Lizzie. I have my child in the kitchen helping cook at the age of two right now. She loves it!
