They’re At It Again!

Spatulatta CookbookBelle and Liv are more commonly known in households across the web as Spatulatta. Their website is full of webcasts and recipes they cook up for their audience. The girls are charming to watch and really seem to know their way around the kitchen. What I like best about Spatulatta, though, is that they present their cooking in a kid-friendly way without serving up only standard kid fare (and I think we all know what that consists of).

I discovered something even better today as I was perusing the children’s cookbook section at the bookstore. Hot off the presses is the girls’ new cookbook, The Spatulatta Cookbook. This book is exactly what every budding young chef needs, a cookbook that talks to them on their level. A book that tells them what sauté and puree mean, and a book that encourages them to try new foods. The first four sections of the book are devoted to seasonal cooking, with one section for each season. Following the seasons is a chapter on Vegetarian cooking and a section on Snacks. The instructions are clear and precise, and encourage the cook to seek help when needed. The photos of the girls doing the cooking do a lot for boosting the young reader’s confidence in the kitchen.

I love this book. My daughter already loves this book. She already wants to make the Shepherd’s Pie, Orange-Carrot Soup, and (how could you not love this) Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs. The Spatulatta Cookbook is a fantastic addition to any kitchen bookshelf.
