Out sick

Kid’s Cuisine is taking a day off because I am sick with a miserable cold. I am looking around the cupboards trying to find appropriate “sick food.” Can’t stand chicken noodle soup, despite the fact that many people swear by it as medicinal.

Help me out — what do you serve your families when they (or you) are sick? Leave a comment and let me know!

I tend to stick to plain pasta, sometimes augmented with a bit of olive oil or butter and parmesan (or romano). It’s just simple, easy comfort food for when we aren’t up to snuff.

I definitely wouldn’t give this potent medicine to my daughter, but since we’re all adults there’s nothing wrong with a snifter of warmed brandy to help soothe an adult’s cold.

Tea’s…. Add 2 cups of cold water in a pan, add 1 tsp chopped ginger, 1/2 tsp pepper and 1/2 tsp of cloves. Simmer for 15 mins or so. Now add a spot of milk…your tea bag…simmer for another minute and add sugar to taste.
