Want to be a flavorologist?
Food is always more fun if you are able to help create it, and it usually tastes better too. That’s why, for me, Cold Stone is better than Baskin-Robbins — making my own flavor just tops selecting from 31 of theirs.
Even if you are unlucky enough not to live near a Cold Stone (and once you taste the banana ice cream, you’ll know just how unfortunate you are), you can mix up your own flavors at home. Just soften the ice cream a bit (leave it out on the counter for 10 minutes or so), chop up some tasty mix-ins, and stir! Another 10 or 15 minutes to reharden in the freezer and your self-made ice cream masterpiece is ready.
Are your kids more the masters of the popsicle? Nestle wants to hear from them. The ice cream giant is offering a “Flavorologist” competition. From their site:
Nestlé invites all young scientists, ages 6-12, to create the world’s coolest frozen pop. Submit your flavor name and idea, along with a flavorful resume, and you could be a winner in the Flavorologist for a Day contest!
10 Grand Prize winners will be awarded a year’s supply of Nestlé® Frozen Snacks, an all-expenses-paid trip to the Nestlé Factory in Bakersfield, California, and other cool prizes. Entries must be submitted by July 27, 2007.
This makes me wish I was young enough to enter!
