Alisa: that is a great question! There is a bakery near me that makes TO-DIE for vegan 'cookies.' But they are more of a granola bar in cookie form. They are SO good, I could eat them daily. They have lots of little extras like sunflower seeds, apricot bites, raisins, etc. Maybe add in some of those goodies and the latest in healthy liquid substitutes... guava or agave is it? Let me know how it turns out! OH, and I loved your site!

Julie: Thanks for your comment, it made me feel SO MUCH BETTER. My son really does love the dried edamame, I guess they have crunchy skins... and my other son was IN HEAVEN last night when I roasted brussel sprouts with olive oil and really good, tasty fleur de sel (expensive, amazing salt)... so I feel better now:).

I've never understood why natural food companies go to such lengths to create such unappealing fare. I agree with you heartily, Jannelle, that a piece of fruit or a snappy fresh vegetable is just as healthy (if not more) and vastly-better tasting than this kind of thing. Alas, you can't really package apples, can you?

What a bummer! I have these on tap to trial for our websites, www.godairyfree.org (obviously I will be using the dairy alternative option). Any suggestions that might liven these up before I make them? I have a few boxes of each to work with.

Thanks for the honesty!
