Fun with Pop-Ups
Picture this: You’re sitting in a darkened theater, watching previews and getting ready for the feature presentation. While you wait, you reach down and grab a big handful of that quintessential movie snack, popcorn. Not just any popcorn, either, but popcorn smothered in fake buttery goodness. This was a rare treat when I was growing up, and now I can see why: buttery popcorn can pack some serious calories!
Because of its movie theater roots, popcorn gets a bad rap a lot of the time. This is unfair, since popcorn on its own is a whole grain, low calorie source of fiber. But plain popcorn is just boring, right? Don’t worry, The Popcorn Board will come to the rescue with some very intriguing popcorn recipes. From Dilly Lemon Munch to Popcorn Biscotti, there are recipes for everyone. And just in time for Christmas, you could try out a Holiday Snowman!
There’s much more than just recipes on the site. The kids page features games, coloring pages, and some great educational activities for elementary-aged children. Teachers or homeschoolers might want to check out the teacher resource page for even more facts and lesson plans.
