Where do sweet potatoes come from?

It’s time to put the finishing touches on the Thanksgiving meal, and for most people sweet potatoes are somewhere on the agenda. This year, why not get the kids involved with the cooking and let them learn a little more about the roots of these roots?

The North Carolina Sweet Potato Commission has a great website promoting their produce. If you are still looking for a recipe for tonight’s dinner, or if you need to use up your leftovers, check out the recipe page. They have everything from Sweet Potato Pie to Grilled Sweet Potato with Peach Cilantro Salsa.

Maybe you are at the point where you wouldn’t mind having the kids around but there’s not much for them to do. The kids page will come to your rescue with some fun print-out coloring pages and a word search.

All of us at Kids Cuisine wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving full of tasty food and family memories. Enjoy your day!
