Get kids in the kitchen with utensils just their size

One excellent way to raise children into adults who cook for themselves is to encourage a sense of play in the kitchen. Instead of shooing the kids into the living room, lure them into cooking by giving them tools that are sized just for them. Kids may prefer to play pretend with them at first, but you can show that these utensils are for real food too. I sure wish I had these when I was a kid!

Along with the many books geared toward cooking with your kids, there are many “kid sized” cooking kits available.

Those useful for baking include:

Silicone Chef 3 Piece Starter Set

Those kits are all adorable! I usually have a problem with kids cooking kits not being complete enough- not having enough pieces. But these all look great! Now to pick one for under the Christmas tree…

Yeah.. this christmas is coming so fast! I will definitely be getting more “non-real” food for the 3 year old. I think I will be getting that silicone kit for my older one.
